Oro / 2025
Oro begins with drawings on paper that are scanned, digitized, translated into code, and animated into a rapid sequence of shifting frames. The result is a frenetic, almost ungraspable flow of gold-toned imagery. The work points to gold as a material of extraction, precious and scarce, and central to the colonial formation of the Americas. Through its speed and constant movement, the video evokes circulation, value, and the difficulty of holding onto something so historically charged and relentlessly commodified.
