Fiesta de Nahuales / 2024
Fiesta de Nahuales is a two-channel video that continues the translation of hand-drawn marks into time-based digital form. The drawings are gestural, partially abstract, and interspersed with text, then digitized and sequenced into fast, looping frames. The work resists being read moment to moment; the images move too quickly to hold, creating a rhythmic visual field where meaning remains in motion. Only a photograph could fix a single frame. The piece lingers in that tension between drawing as trace and video as continual becoming.
